Using TwitterFeed to Tweet post subject and link on Twitter

TwitterMail proved to be a less than perfect solution, because it doesn't link to the blogger post page, which is very important. So I decided to drop it and try RSS feed tools instead. So now TwitterMail has been removed from BlogPost settings and TwitterFeed has been subscribed to this blog's RSS feed.

The Good

TwitterFeed seems to be a nice solution, since it reads the blog RSS/Atom feed and provides many options for Tweet customization.
I've just selected the folllowing customizations:
  • Subject Only
  • Post link + shorten via bit.ly web service API
  • Postfix each tweet with #blogger to have it on the blogger channel for TweetDeck, HootSuite, Tweetvisor, among other advanced Twitter clients
Another feature which seems very promising is the UTM tag options. These are Google Analytics tags that allow better understanding of traffic sources for your content.
There is a lot of available information on the subject on Google Search

The Bad

TwitterFeed has a shortest update cycle of 30 minutes with a maximum of 5 posts per update. This limits the amount of postweets to 1 per 6 minutes. I must admit it's not very restrictive, but I would prefer a push mechanism instead.
Testing has just begun and I hope to find mainly good things to say about it after some experimenting :)
